A pole of height \(2.4\) m casts a shadow of length \(3\) m. At the same moment, a tower casts a shadow of length \(18\) m. Find the height of the tower.
The triangles are similar because the sun rays are parallel.
Let the height of the tower be \(h\). By similarity of right triangles, \(\frac{h}{18}=\frac{2.4}{3}\). Hence \(h=18\cdot0.8=14.4\) m.
