Problem
GEO-B2-M07-P003 Median and Areas
#3
★★☆☆☆ Level 2 of 5
In triangle \(ABC\), point \(M\) is the midpoint of \(BC\). Prove that \([ABM]=[ACM]\).
Compare bases \(BM\) and \(CM\).
Triangles \(ABM\) and \(ACM\) have a common altitude from \(A\) to \(BC\). Bases \(BM\) and \(CM\) are equal, so the areas are equal.
The link between a median and equal areas.
